The Development of Local Governance in the Kyrgyz Republic: What has changed by May 2023?
On July 12, a scientist and politician of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Aaly Karashev delivered an open online lecture on “The Development of Local Government in the Kyrgyz Republic: what has changed by May 2023?” for graduates of scholarship programs of the Hanns Seidel Foundation and students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kyrgyz Republic (APA).
Mr. Karashev worked in various positions in the Presidential Administration for many years, in such capacities as First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Director of the State Personnel Service, and Head of the Administration of the Osh Region.
The welcoming notes were delivered by Vice-Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kyrgyzstan Ms. A. Abdiyeva, Head of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Central Asia Dr. M. G. Meier, and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub Mr. A. Baimenov.
During the lecture, Mr. Karashev shared with the audience a unique experience in the development of local self-government in Kyrgyzstan, dwelled separately on the formation of their budget, staffing, and provision of services to the population (Presentation).
This lecture is a part of the series of online lectures, that have been organized since 2022 as a joint project of the Astana Civil Service Hub, the Hanns Seidel Foundation, and the APA under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
