The 32nd NISPAcee Annual Conference "Public Administration In Post-Conflict Reconstruction."
From May 22nd to 25th, the 32nd NISPAcee Annual Conference convened under the pivotal theme of "Public Administration In Post-Conflict Reconstruction."
As one of the most prestigious events in the realm of public administration, this conference annually brings together scientists, experts, doctoral students, master's students from different parts of the world to to tackle pressing governance issues. This year, the vibrant city of Tbilisi, Georgia, played host to 200 representatives from more than 20 countries.
During the Opening Plenary Session on May 23rd, Mr. Baimenov, Chairman of the ACSH Steering Committee, delivered a welcoming remark. He spoke about the increasing demands on public administration quality in the face of long-term and urgent challenges at global, regional, and local levels, coupled with the advent of disruptive technologies such as AI. ²In an era of increased populism and selfishness,” he noted, “it is crucial to safeguard the long-term interests of global and national development against the short-term priorities of political elites². Mr. Baimenov also emphasized the dual challenge governments face in managing both conflict resolution and post-conflict reconstruction.
Adding to this critical discourse, the ACSH played a proactive role by organizing a Panel Session on "Public Administration in the New Reality", reaffirming its dedication to advancing public administration. The panel session was opened with compelling addresses by Mr. Alikhan Baimenov and Ms. Eka Akobia, President of NISPAcee.
The Panel Session, structured in two dynamic parts, featuring insights from nine speakers representing diverse countries. The first part delved into the development of public administration amidst the "new normal," while the second part explored reforms within the civil service domain. Esteemed practitioners and scholars from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, UK, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia shared their profound experiences and perspectives, enriching the discussions with diverse insights and practical view.
