Regional Hub Expands its Geography to South America and East Asia
The Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Rio Branco Institute of Brazil, Bangladesh Prime-Minister’s Office, e-Governance Academy of Estonia, Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) as well as Kazakhstan’s State Corporation “Government for Citizen”.
The MoUs were signed by Chairman of the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana Alikhan Baimenov, Director-General of the Rio Branco Institute José Estanislau do Amaral Souza Neto, Policy Advisor of UNDP and USAID-supported a2i (Access to Information) Program of Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Office Anir Chowdhury, Deputy Director of the Planning and Development Department, e-Governance Academy of Estonia Hannes Astok, SESRIC Director General Musa Kulaklikaya, and Chairman of Kazakhstan’s State Corporation “Government for Citizen” Abylaikhan Ospanov.
Partnership with the Regional Hub allows for participation in international initiatives and events on knowledge exchanges, promotion of international best practices, networking with public administration expert community. The MoUs also allow for joint research, capacity building and peer learning activities. Thus, the parties will discuss the possibility of holding join education events, including lectures, seminars, trainings, conferences and forums on pertinent issues in civil service.
In the course of the meeting the partners underlined the considerable contribution of the Regional Hub in enhancing the civil service excellence, as well as its research potential and extensive roster of experts, which includes more than 90 leading experts in the civil service sector from 25 countries of the world. The Hub enjoys partnership relations with more than 30 internationally recognized in the governance sphere. With Brazil and Bangladesh joining the Regional Hub, the number of participating countries has grown to 38.
