Hub participated in the International Forum in Baku
On 15 – 16 December, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub Mr. Alikhan Baimenov took part in the Forum on “Path to Cutting-Edge Governance: Moving towards Sustainable and Innovative Public Service” in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event is organised by the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and dedicated to the 10-year anniversary of “ASAN service”.
The Forum was opened by the video message from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He welcomed the participants of the international forum and mentioned that “in December 2022, we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first “ASAN service” center. Today, more than 360 services are provided by various state institutions and private companies in “ASAN service” centers”. H.E. Mr. Li Junhua, UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, H.E. Dr. Salim Mohammed AlMalik, Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), and H.E. Mr. Nikhil Seth, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of UNITAR also delivered welcoming remarks during the event.
On the margins of the Forum, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub Mr. Alikhan Baimenov has met with Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ulvi Mehdiyev, Secretary-General of the African Association for Public Administration and Management Dr. George K. Scott and Former Chief of Public Service Innovation Branch of UN DESA Dr. John-Mary Kauzya.
The Forum has gathered together high-level representatives of the government authorities, experts and practitioners, as well as academic society to share their best practices in the field of smart governance. This event provided a collaboration opportunity for sharing and learning new experiences and solutions in the field of public service delivery during the post-pandemic period.
