Chair of the OECD Working Group on Bribery familiarized Kazakhstan civil servants with the best international experiences in the sphere of anticorruption policy
Alikhan Baimenov, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana met with the Drago Kos, Chair of the OECD Working Group on Bribery.
At the meeting were discussed the issues of fighting corruption in transitional societies, measures to ensure the decision-making transparency. There have also been discussed the institutional aspects of corruption prevention and the further cooperation to promote the state bodies efforts on the implementation of Plan of the Nation "100 concrete steps", especially concerning the formation of modern state apparatus and the development of transparent and accountable state bodies.
At the framework of this visit Drago Kos will meet with Talgat Donakov, Minister of Civil Service Affairs of Kazakhstan, Bolatbek Abdrasilov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan and Ulan Baizhanov, Rector of the Academy of Law-Enforcement Agencies of the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan.
Drago Kos will also hold seminars and lectures at the Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan. This visit of the well-known international expert in the field of anticorruption policy and public administration to Kazakhstan was organized by the Regional Hub of Civil Service in Astana.
Drago Kos has been the Chair of the OECD Working Group on Bribery since 2014. He was the first elected Chairman of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption in Slovenia, Chairman of GRECO, Vice-President of the European network of anti fraud and corruption in Healthcare system and the member of CE experts’ group on the fight against organized crime.
