Astana Hub’s representatives attended the UN Public Service Forum in Morocco
On 21-23 June 2018, the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub Mr. Alikhan Baimenov attended the United Nations Public Service Forum “Transforming Governance to Realize the Sustainable Development Goals” (further - Forum) held in Marrakech, Kingdom of Morocco.
Within the Forum, Mr. Baimenov met key partners to discuss collaboration.
John-Mary Kauzya, Chief of Public Service Innovation Branch from the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government, UNDESA and Mr. Baimenov discussed joint capacity building activities to support achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
Mr. Vincenzo Aquaro, Chief of Digital Government Branch from the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government, UNDESA discussed with Mr. Baimenov the possibility of signing agreement between UNDESA and ACSH on developing digital government. Mr. Aguaro stressed that the Hub’s structure was perfect for implementing UNDESA E-Government methodology for several countries of the region. The parties discussed the opportunity to arrange activities within the Hub’s E-Government Peer Learning Alliance.
Mr. Baimenov also met Mr. Jahi Jahija, State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Society and Administration of FYR Macedonia and Dr. Alex JR. Brillantes, President of Asian Association for Public Administration to discuss arrangement of joint activities in the upcoming period.
All parties have agreed further actions to be followed up by the sides and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
