The UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC) and Global Anti-Corruption Team will jointly organize the knowledge exchange webinar on “ Integrated Approach to Socio-Economic Response to COVID-19: UNDP Offer 2.0, Reflections on Anti-Corruption, and Experiences from Korea”.
Intended audience: UNDP programme staff in GPN and Country Offices, as well as their relevant government partners, interested in exploring the possibility of future knowledge exchange engagements with USPC/Global Anti-Corruption team or seeking concrete and practical ideas on COVID-19 related initiatives would benefit from this webinar.
UNDP is helping countries urgently and effectively respond to COVID-19 as part of its mission to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and build resilience to crises and shocks. As the next phase of UNDP’s COVID-19 crisis response, UNDP Offer 2.0 aims to support decision-makers to look beyond recovery, towards 2030, making choices and managing complexity and uncertainty in four main areas: governance, social protection, green economy, and digital disruption. Although there is recognition that COVID-19 impacts governance systems, processes and institutions, existing socio-economic impact analyses have not particularly analysed the impact of COVID-19 on transparency, accountability and anti-corruption. This webinar is thus organized to provide an overview of UNDP’s Offer 2.0 in response to the socio-economic impact of COVID-19, and to showcase how anti-corruption can be integrated into socio-economic impact analysis, with the example of the Republic of Korea (RoK).
The objectives of the webinar are to promote knowledge exchange and sharing of experiences, lessons learned and challenges on integrating transparency, accountability and anti-corruption measures during the pandemic, by providing inspiring examples and sparking creative ideas for UNDP practitioners; and to foster cooperation between the socio-economic and governance/anti-corruption practitioners on the implications of the COVID-19 crisis, to ensure integrated responses in line with the 2030 Agenda.
